Austin Biofeedback and Neurofeedback Center
Many people carry stress in their bodies without realizing it. Over time, the nervous system can settle into a pattern of chronic muscle tension, with tight shoulders, a clenched jaw, a braced posture, and a body that struggles to fully let go even at rest. Biofeedback and neurofeedback are non-invasive, drug-free approaches that help you become aware of these patterns and learn to shift them. Using gentle, real-time feedback from your own body and brain, we help you recognize tension as it builds and train your nervous system toward a calmer, more regulated baseline. Rather than masking symptoms, this work helps you build lasting skills for noticing and releasing the physical tension that stress creates. Our BCIA-certified, licensed counselors will work with you to understand your unique patterns and create a personalized training plan designed around your goals.
Benefits of Biofeedback and Neurofeedback for Chronic Muscle Tension and the Physical Effects of Stress
Non-Invasive and Drug-Free
Biofeedback and neurofeedback offer non-invasive, drug-free approaches to supporting the body and nervous system, making them a good fit for people seeking natural ways to address chronic muscle tension and the physical effects of stress.
Personalized Training
Biofeedback and neurofeedback are highly personalized. We help you learn the specific techniques that work best for you and the unique ways your body holds tension and responds to stress.
Empowerment and Control
We help you gain greater awareness of your body's stress and tension responses, and learn to shift them. Over time, this can support a calmer, more regulated nervous system and a greater sense of control over how your body feels.
If You Live With a Chronic Pain Condition
Many of our clients live with pain conditions managed by their physician. Chronic pain and chronic muscle tension often feed each other, and biofeedback can help you train the tension, bracing, and stress reactivity that accompany a pain condition. We do not diagnose or treat pain conditions; your physician remains in charge of that care, and we coordinate when helpful.

Is This Approach Right For You?
The best way to find out if biofeedback or neurofeedback is a good approach for you is to start with a conversation. Your first step is a 50-minute intake conversation with a clinician, where we cover your history, your goals, and what you're hoping to change.
