The Food and Drug Administration has begun investigating the claims of certain illegitimate "biofeedback/neurofeedback" equipment manufacturers and their essentially untrained practitioners in the U.S. as a potentially serious public health concern. The legitimate professional biofeedback and neurofeedback communities are also concerned.
The following is an article on this topic in the current issue of the professional journal of the Association of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback. This article is authored by D. Corydon Hammond, Ph.D, of the University of Utah School of Medicine and Lynda Kirk, Clinical Director of the Austin Biofeedback and EEG Neurofeedback Center. The information in this article may be useful for anyone seeking a legitimate biofeedback or neurofeedback provider. See also our web page: "A Note On Choosing A Therapist".
