What Will You Find In Our Toolkit?
At Austin Biofeedback and EEG Neurofeedback Center, we take a comprehensive, integrative approach through the therapies we provide you, because no single therapy works best for all concerns. Certain therapeutic modalities target particular problems better than others.
One thing you will notice at the Center is that we use many different biofeedback and EEG neurofeedback systems; each has its own specific strengths. This allows us the flexibility to use the systems best suited for you when you need them.
Many other neurotherapy providers use just one kind of EEG neurofeedback system and don’t offer true clinical biofeedback at all. Our more than sixty five years of combined clinical experience using EEG neurofeedback and biofeedback has demonstrated to us that in many, many cases, combining EEG neurofeedback and biofeedback therapy is far more effective than using either therapy alone.

We are all so much more than just our bodies and brains. Because of this, the Center provides EEG neurofeedback and biofeedback within a framework of other integrative, supporting therapies:
First, hand-in-hand with providing biofeedback and QEEG-guided EEG neurofeedback therapy, educating and coaching you are important roles for our staff. The more information you know about your condition and what you can do about it, the more you can confidently take charge of your own health.
Second, effective care may also include the need for emotional and other kinds of support combined with EEG neurofeedback and biofeedback. For these, we provide expert professional services such as counseling, psychotherapy, cognitive therapy, hypnotherapy, thought field or emotional freedom therapy, and more.
Third, health or developmental problems, whether an adult’s or a child’s, often affect relationships and families, so when necessary, relationship therapy, along with pregnancy and parenting programs are also available. As a person heals or grows, relationship and family dynamics can change significantly. We can help make sure these changes are healthy as well.

Both biofeedback and EEG neurofeedback can provide help for hundreds of health and developmental concerns. Combined they can also be valuable tools to help you attain optimal performance goals.
Biofeedback therapy teaches you how to develop conscious control over your body’s physical systems in ways you might find astonishing; for example, you can personally develop the ability to consciously abort a migraine, lower your blood pressure, or even control incontinence, on your own, either with reduced assistance from, or entirely without medications or other aids.
EEG neurofeedback therapy is a special kind of biofeedback that addresses and retrains your brain specifically, in order to make it more flexible, with more stamina, and the ability to function more effectively. Because your brain is your primary internal "control center", EEG neurofeedback therapy can also improve your life in an amazing number of ways. Using the same examples from above, this form of therapy can be used to train your brain to make you more migraine resistant or, by acting on muscle control centers in the brain, it can reduce baseline blood pressure or give you added natural bowel or bladder control.
Continuing with the above examples, by combining EEG neurofeedback and biofeedback therapy, you can develop both a higher natural resistance to migraines, lower blood pressure or restore continence; and also for those occasional times when due to circumstances, your symptoms may flare up, you can use the skills you have learned with biofeedback to consciously control or abort your symptoms.
